Dhari is a town in Amreli district in what is now Gujarat, India; formerly Saurashtra, Hindustan. It is the site of a multipurpose dam.[1]

Geography

Dhari has the population of about 75000. Dhari is located on the banks of river Shetrunji on which the famous Khodiyar Dam is located. Dhari has a good connectivity with rest of Gujarat by road and railway. Dhari is a birthplace of famous Swaminarayan saint Shri Yogiji Maharaj.Dhari is come on world map after manu bhai kotadia selection as a cabinet minister in Shree Chandrashakher Government. Dhari has also Jain derasar situated at kandoi street. which is 100 years old. Mulnayak is shri aadinathji.other attraction soon be built near khodiyar dam which will be called as a SAFARI PARK for watching asiatic lion in natural surrounding. Dhari has very good teaching facilities up to graduate level. Recently Arunbhai Muchhala Engineering college has been started by Arunbhai Muchhala (resident of sarasiya, Dhari). Even, new BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir is under- construction on the birth place of Shri Yogiji Maharaj which will add glory in the history of the town.
