David Wood Academy

David Wood Academy (DWA) is a basic school (nursery, primary and jhs) in Ghana located at Kwamo in Kumasi^[1]. It was named after an American who died in 2008, the same year the school was established. Dr and Mrs Sekyere, both Ghanaians, started the school together with Amy Bruff, an American, in September 2008.

Currently the school is headed by Dr Daniel Sekyere together with his four children after the death of Mrs Esther Sekyere. Their four children are Mr Francois Sekyere, a part time lecturer at the university of education Kumasi campus, Mr. Kwame Sekyere , Miss Abigal Sekyere, Mr Yaw Sekyere.
