David Taylor (Wisconsin judge)

David Taylor (March 18, 1818–April 5, 1891) was an American politician and jurist from Wisconsin.

Born in Carlisle, New York, Taylor graduated from Union College in 1841 and was admitted to the New York bar in 1844. In 1846, Taylor moved to Wisconsin Territory, and practiced law in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and then in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In 1853, he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Taylor served as a Wisconsin Circuit Court judge in 1857-1869 and served in the Wisconsin State Senate in 1855-1856 and 1869-1870. In 1878, Taylor was elected to an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court serving until his death.[1][2]
