Early career

In 1995, Dave King launched a ground-breaking music product for its time, the first CD-Extra Cover mounted discs, in conjunction with DJ Magazine and major UK record companies.

Dave King then went on to be Managing Director of Hypnosis, a UK music internet specialist consulting to Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), EMI and Warner Bros. Records.

In 2002, Dave King was appointed MD of Virtue Tornado Plc where he structured its DRM and watermarking deal with EMI. In 2004, he briefly served as acting CEO of Ministry of Sound.

In 2003 Dave King started eyefall (now Altogether Digital), an agency that has serviced the European needs of consumer brands including Merrill Lynch, GMAC RFC, SKY and BMW. He successfully disposed of eyefall to Peter Scott’s The Engine Group in 2006. He stayed on to lead its digital businesses as CEO before leaving in 2008 to set up Digitalis Media, which he launched in the summer of 2009.

Dave King has also been consultant to numerous consumer-facing organisations, both public and private, on their own digital strategies; most notably the Office of the Prime Minister, Samsung, Future Publishing, Universal and EMI.

Digitalis Media

Digitalis Media mixes proprietary market gap forecasting technologies to predict the success of an online business venture with high level strategic consultancy. This is underpinned by digital marketing delivery services including search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click (PPC), affiliate marketing, social media, and online public relations (PR). The company also offers a highly popular online reputation management.[1] service that protects how personalities and brands are perceived by consumers, journalists and analysts online. Only a year old, the agency arm of the company has achieved annualised gross profits of over £1.5 Million, which would earn it a place in the top 20 of New Media Age’s 2010 marketing services league table.[2]

Mark Wood (Financial Figure), formerly of AXA and Prudential Financial is currently the chairman.

Charitable Work

Dave King is on the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) City Dinner Committee. He also regularly donates his time and expertise as a consultant on a pro-bono basis to Combat Stress, King’s Place Music Foundation, and Royal Parks.
