List of cysts of the jaws

Cysts of the jaws are mostly odontogenic cysts but may be also of non-odontogenic source. The mandible and maxilla are the bones with the highest prevalent of cysts in the human body owing to odontogenic and developmental epithelial remnants, and the common dental infections and dental impactions.

  • Nasopalatine duct cyst, the most common non-odontogenic jaw cyst, appears only in the mid-line of the maxilla.
