Harris was a left-handed batsman who was a fast bowler.
Richards represented Hampshire in one first-class match in 1895 against Surrey. Richards made 43 runs in Hampshire's first innings, but in the second innings Harris made 5 runs before being bowled by Thomas Richardson.
Richards died at Cluny Castle, Aberdeenshire on 27 October 1933.
