Cryostasis is an Internet trance project founded 2001 in Germany. It's one of the oldest active trance projects on the World Wide Web and also one of the best-known internet-based trance projects. The main characteristic of all Internet projects is that all published tracks are free for download and not signed at any label or buyable somewhere in an mp3-shop or music store. Due to this fact these projects and artists are not in the focus of commercial radio and television but well-known in the large internet.

The music style of Cryostasis is a mixture of uplifting and melodic trance and energetic acid-based hardtrance. Most of the tracks can be found on the main internet portals of music [1] [2] [3] except myspace because of it being a too commercial platform.
