The bridge was built in 1840 to span the Salmon River and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 1, 1976.[1]
Some people have described the Comstock Covered Bridge as haunted by the ghost of a young man.[1]
The bridge was deemed significant in 1975 by the National Register of Historic Places as being one of only three remaining historical covered bridges in Connecticut.[2]
