Christos Efstahiou (born August 24, 1990 in Paphos) is a Cypriot football goalkeeper, who currently plays for Akritas Chlorakas.He is also a member of the Cyprus national under-21 football team.

Club career

Capone who particularly stood out on the private academies of his hometown, began playing as a goalkeeper in AEP Paphos's U-15 and U-17 teams at the age of 13, going through the final of the U-15 Cyprus Youth Cup when AEP lost the game on penalties when he took the initiative to kick the process's last penalty,which he missed it.On the summer of 2006 he moved to his village's club Atromitos Yeroskipou when at the age of 15 he took part in the pre-season preparation and friendlies of the club, leaving many signs of his talent. His first team appearance was made on January 17, 2007 and the same season with the U-17 team playing on the qualifying round of Paphos group stage,he made sixteen games conceding only one goal.Then, when they followed twice consecutive years of Atromitos Yeroskipou promotions from third to first division, he gained his first Cyprus national under-19 football team call-up and immediately at end of season, his transfer to one of the most successful clubs of the island, Omonia Nicosia.Since he started of being professional, combining football with a Administration (business) study, and trained for a year with the senior squad, being the main goalkeeper for the U-21 squad, at summer of 2009 had the dilemma to join of an invitation for trials from an abroad's club but due to having enough proposals to consider from the domestic championship, at the end decided to accept the offer from Akritas Chlorakas by singing a two year's contract with the club mainly for his desire play some games in the outset of his career.But unfortunately, during the first match of the new season, he suffered by a shoulder subluxation injury when he collided with an other player of the opposite team, which deprived him to be the first choice goalkeeper for the specific season.However he continued making just physiotherapies when at the middle of season he passed from a successful surgery with a 5 months persistent rehabilitation which Capone finally returned back to participate at the season's last fixtures with his club.
