Christian Cadieux, (born 7 August 1974) is a Canadian business owner and decontamination/biohazard specialist.

Cadieux’s upbringing took place in an ultra-conservative Greek Orthodox household in Toronto, Ontario. He is fluent in both English and Greek; despite his French-Canadian surname.

In June 2005 while attending the Amdecon Crime and Trauma Scene Decontamination course in Irving, Texas Christian met Robert Demaret who later became the Director of Global Bio Management (formed September 8, 2005) dba USA Decon. Christian worked with USA Decon in the Houston, Texas area for a period and then returned to Canada to start Crime and Trauma Scene Cleaners Inc., in January 2006.[1] His experiences ranged from remediation of crystal meth labs [2] to decontamination of human remains sites.[3]

In the spring of 2010 Cadieux launched a second business, Bed Bugs Bite (a division of Emergency Response Cleanup Inc. The company is an innovator in Canada; and the first to employ thermal pest control technology at a national level. Thermal Pest Control involves the use of high temperatures to kill pests, which cannot survive temperatures in excess of 130°F. This method is favorable to pesticides as it is effective without deploying poisonous chemicals.

Between CTSC and Bed Bugs Bite, Cadieux employees 30 full and part time technicians. He is also a founding member of the Canadian Authority for Decontamination Specialists (C.A.D.S.). Christian currently resides in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife and their twin daughters.

Cadieux has also featured as a guest speaker, educating police services, firefighters, paramedics, and social workers about biological and chemical threats that may be encountered on the job. He is highly regarded as an authority on procedures and drills for those who come in contact with hazardous materials.

Grim Sweepers

Cadieux was contacted by production company Radar pictures in 2006 with the interest of filming a reality television series based on him, his family, and his company. The series (aptly named Grim Sweepers,) focuses on the unusual and sometimes startling business of crime scene cleanup. It showcases the gruesome undertakings of Cadieux and his employees and contains graphic footage.[4]

The cast of Grim Sweepers is composed of nine CTSC technicians as well as Christian and his father, David. Much of the content features amusing interactions between Cadieux and his crew members; including heated exchanges with foreman Larry Rabkin, who points out that a particular coworker is dangerously incompetent.

A two-part pilot episode was shot in the CTSC facility and various job locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Production for Grim Sweepers finalized in October 2009, and the pilot premiered on July 4, 2010. Airing on Mystery TV at 9pm, the pilot episodes were well-received by critics.[5] The series is yet to be picked up by a network.[6]
