Christopher (Chris) Hill is a professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for Warrington Wolves but is dual registered to Leigh Centurions in the Co-operative Championship. He is by preference a prop-forward.

Early career

Hill signed for Leigh from local Wigan amateur club New Springs Legions in 2004, and in fact started his career as a stand-off or loose forward before being converted into a prop. He progressed through Leigh's service area, scholarship and youth ranks before making his first and currently only first-grade appearance whilst Leigh were in Super League in Super League X (2005), during a 74-8 drubbing by St Helens. He won the Northern Rail Cup in 2006, after consolidating his place in the side by this time. He toured Australia with Great Britain Under-18's in this same year. Additionally, Hill has accumulated a couple of accolades with Leigh; firstly in reaching 100 appearances for the club, but also being the most recent prop-forward for the Centurions to score a hat-trick of tries. After missing only one game in two years, he was made captain of Leigh in 2010.[1]

Move to Warrington

In 2011, Hill's impressive displays in the Championship saw him earn a three-year deal with Warrington Wolves in Super League, which will begin in 2012 as he will remain with Leigh Centurions on a dual registration. In light of this, his then-coach Ian Millward predicted future national caps for Hill, with his nurturing at Warrington.

I am delighted for Chris. As the fans will testify he has developed all season and is ready for Super League. It would not surprise me if in due course he won national recognition.[2]
