Chippa United is a semi-professional association football club based in the Nyanga suburb of Cape Town, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The club was founded in June 2010, where they bought the Castle League franchise of Mbekweni Cosmos, and hereby started out to play in Vodacom League. Their first season was very successful, as they managed not only to win the Western Cape Province, but also to win the overall Vodacom Promotional Championship, after a series of play-offs in June 2011. This accomplishment ensured Chippa United a direct promotion, to play next season in the National First Division.

Chippa United is wholly owned by Chippa Investment Holdings, which is a big construction, security and cleaning company in Cape Town.
