The Chicago Electrical Trauma Research Institute is a research institute located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It operates to facilitate scientific investigation for the improved treatment of electrical shock.

History

Its practitioners have been caring for electrical shock survivors for over 20 years and have reported many of the leading advances in the diagnosis and treatment of electrical injury.

Areas of specialty

There are many excellent trauma and burn centers that provide excellent care for victims of electrical shock. Immediately following an electrical shock, a survivor should be taken to the nearest hospital emergency department. Further care will be arranged there according to trauma management guidelines.

CETRI is a medical research facility that provides care to patients who have persistent neuromuscular problems after they have completed care in a medical facility. careare those who have for number of conditions related to electrical injury including, chronic pain, and traumatic neuropsychiatric and cognitive abnormalities as well as the more common PTSD. Many people come to CETRI because of their specialization in occupational rehabilitation, stress, pain management, and cognitive impairment.
