Chibi Devi! (ちび☆デビ! Chibi Debi!?) is a Japanese shōjo comedy manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Shinozuka about a middle school girl who discovers a devil baby on her bed one day. It was adapted into an anime television series by SynergySP which began airing in Japan from October 10, 2011.

Plot

Honoka Sawada is a lonely girl who is often picked on by others. One night, a strange baby named Mao appears before her, and she soon learns that this baby is none other than a baby devil.

Honoka Sawada (沢田ほのか Sawada Honoka?)
Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi
Honoka is a fourteen-year-old girl in middle school who lost her parents when she was younger. She is often taken advantage of by her classmates and is always lonely. That is, until the day Mao comes into her life.
Mao (まお?)
Voiced by: Noriko Shitaya
A baby devil who suddenly appears before Honoka one day, sporting a tail and wings on his head. Like other devil babies like him, Mao is able to perform magic based on costumes that he wears; for example, a dinosaur costume allows him to breathe fire.
Shin Sugisaki (杉崎真 Sugisaki Shin?)
Voiced by: Hiroyuki Yoshino
Kyou's friend who helps Honoka out in raising Mao as a substitute father role.
Kyou Toono (遠野京?)
Voiced by: Kouichi Bandou
Honoka's childhood friend, who often shirks his responsibilities to watch his favourite anime on time.
Principal (園長先生 Enchou-sensei?)
Voiced by: Sōichirō Hoshi
The principal of a daycare for devil babies. He is always seen wearing goofy glasses and a fake moustache.

Manga

The original manga by Hiromu Shinozuka began serialization in Shogakukan's Ciao magazine from May 2008. Six tankobon volumes have been released so far.

Anime

An anime television series based on the manga was announced in the October 2011 issue of Ciao. The series began airing on Japan's national public broadcasting network, NHK, as part of the Dai! Tensai Terebi-kun program block, starting from October 10, 2011.[1]

Honoka Sawada is a sad young girl who lost her parents and is constantly picked on by her classmates. One morning, she wakes up to find a strange baby with a devil's tail named Mao. As Honoka is once again picked on by her classmates as she goes to buy some milk, Mao responds by blasting them with some fire.

Honoka calls her childhood friend, Kyou Toono, and his classmate, Shin Sugisaki, to see Mao. When Kyou leaves to watch his favourite anime, Mao escapes the apartment.

As Honoka and Shin search for Mao, Mao's exploration ends him up on top of a roof. Mao is saved by a strange person who knows Mao-chan's true nature.

The man reveals himself to be the director of a daycare for demon children such as Mao. When Honoka feels uneasy becoming about become Mao's surrogate mother, she agrees to take care of him for a month whilst the director finds a replacement. 
05 "First Day Care"

Mao becomes grouchy towards Honoka after being left at the daycare centre for the first time, but Shin manages to set things straight. Afterwards, the director gives Honoka an invite to a welcoming party where she'll meet the parents of other demon children.
