The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, former Oxford Lodging Advisory & Investment Group, LLC, is one of the fastest-growing lodging investment firms in the country, with a $6 billion, 20,000-room portfolio of luxury and upscale hotels, conference centers and resorts in the United States and Japan.[1]. The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, is an advisory and investment firm focused on the property management, asset management, renovation and development of lodging assets. Chartres’ owns 30 percent of properties and are direct investors in 80 percent of this portfolio. The company was founded in San Francisco by principal investors Rob Kline, Maki Bara, and Bruce Blum of The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC [2] In 2006, Chartres Lodging formed its own internal property management company called "Kokua Hospitality" designed to provide additional property management resources. Chartres' most recent and significant acquisition was the purchase of the 4,867-room Adam’s Mark hotel portfolio from HBE Corp., of St. Louis, and renovating, re-branding and repositioning plans for five properties encompassing high-profile, convention-oriented hotels in Dallas, Denver, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Buffalo, N.Y.[3]. The company's history of hotel investment includes the turnaround of various distressed properties as well as the restoration of historically significant buildings such as located in Chicago including: Inn of Chicago, Doubletree Magnificent Mile, and the Allerton Hotel.
