Jonathan Self

Jonathan Self (born 1959) is an author and journalist. He began his career as an advertising copywriter and founded Self Direct, a direct marketing agency that specialised in financial services, in 1982. He sold his business in 1993 in order to raise his three children. He published his autobiography, "Self Abuse", in 2001 and "The Teenager’s Guide to Money" in 2007. He has written extensively for the British media including "Country Life", "The Times", "The Daily Telegraph" and "The Mail on Sunday". He sits on the Council of the World Land Trust and is founder of the personal finance website, AskSelf. His brother is the novelist and broadcaster, Will Self.
