Zayed Future Energy Prize

Zayed Future Energy Prize is energy award announced by Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the 2008 World Future Energy Summit. The prize will be awarded "to three individuals, companies, organisations or NGOs that have made significant contributions in the global response to the future of energy". Finalists for the prize will be nominated by experts across the globe; the winners will be chosen by a jury chaired by Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. The Zayed Future Energy Prize declares to encompass:
* Renewable and sustainable energy sources
* Efficient use of non-renewable energies
* Conservation
* Energy policy
* Communications and public awareness
