Toshiki Ozawa

Toshiki Ozawa (小澤俊樹, in Japanese) born 1932 in Tokyo - a contemporary Japanese photographer.Member of KOKUGAKAI (KOKUTEN), international representative and life member of PSA, life member of Royal Photographic Society, honorary life member of Photographic Society of Bengal (India), Japanese Representative of Pakistan Photographic Association, honorary member of Latvian Photo Artist Society and National Association of Lithuanian Photographers, Chairman of Le Photo-Club Arc-en-Ciel, Tokyo International Photographic Group and Contemporary Japanese Arts Group, director and president of Photo Tech Ltd.

Career:

1945: Started photography, engaged in the development and printing of monochrome photos.

1953: Apprenticed under Mr. Keizo Nagahama while studying at Department of Arts, Nihon University.

1954: Accepted at 28th KOKUTEN the first time (continuous acceptance ever since, awarded the 30th Anniversary Prize in 1956, Canon prize in 1961 and became Friend of KOKUTEN (no longer submitted to the screening committee).

1955: Awarded at Popular Photography International Exhibition in New York. Graduated from Department of Arts, Nihon University.

1961: Started the development and printing of color photos while working for Konica Co., Ltd.

1963: Awarded KOKUTEN Friend Excellence Prize.

1972-1992: Part time lecturer at Department of Arts, Nihon University (in charge of special photographic techniques class).

1973: Became member of KOKUTEN.

1988: Started the production of creative computer art photography.

1990: Granted the title of ESFIAP from FIAP.

1991: Established Tokyo International Photographic Group and started holding overseas exchange exhibitions. Sponsored 19 group exhibitions in Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, China, Taiwan, Netherlands, etc.

1992: Started holding more than 60 solo exhibitions in major cities at home (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, etc.) and abroad (USA, Russia, Turkey, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Dominica, Netherlands, Slovenia, Mexico, China, Taiwan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Andorra, etc.)

1994: Invited to International Conference of FIAP and held a joint exhibition with Franco Fontana in a special venue in Andorra, displaying 100 prints entitled "Overseas Skeches" and produced by creative computer art photography. The exhibiton attracted the worldwide attention and served as the basis for present day computer photography.

1996: Invited to the FAPA conference commemorating the 30th year of founding and exhibited 100 prints entitled "Overseas Sketches" in a special venue in Hong Kong. 40 of these prints were arranged in the cover of catalogue commemorating this international conference. Judge at the 4th Austrian Super Circuit International Salon (Austria).

1997: Organized Contemporary Japanese Arts Group and sponsored overseas exhibitions displaying comprehensive modern arts of Japan (painting, woodblock print, sculpture, craft, photography).

1998: 1st exhibition of Contemporary Japanese Arts Group at the National Museum "Manggha" in Krakow, Poland.

1999: 2nd exhibition at National Museum of Modern History in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

2001: 3rd exhibition at Art Gallery "KI" in Ginza, Tokyo.

2003: Judge at 1st Caribbean International Photography Touring Exhibition (Dominican Republic).

2004: Touring solo exhibition at Kaunas Fuji Photo Gallery, etc. in Lithuania for 1 year.

2005: Judge at the 14th Austrian Super Circuit International Salon (Austria).

2005: Sponsored 18th Tokyo International Photographic Group Exhibition at Kaunas Fuji Photo Gallery, in Lithuania as an event in Japan-European Union Exchange Year. The catalogues printed there were sent to EU countries to help to introduce the works of Japanese photographers.

2006: Touring solo exhibition "Journey of Pastel Colors" at Kaunas Fuji Photo Gallery and major cities of Lithuania for 1 year. A photo album was published in Lithuania. Solo exhibition "Etude Nude-2" at Gallery Milfoto in Minsk, Belarus. The catalogues were printed there. Awarded an honorary title of America (PSA) as one of 14 photographers most active over the world.

2007: Solo exhibition "Overseas Sketches" at Pune State Art Gallery (India). Solo exhibition "Journey in Pastel Colors 2" at Kaunas FUJIFILM Gallery (Lithuania).

2008: Solo exhibition "Journey in Pastel Colors 2" at Museum of History (Lithuania). Solo exhibition "Overseas Sketches" and "Paired Expression" at Setagaya Museum in Tokyo Publications.
