Joshua Mueller started his collection of
Converse All Star shoes inJunior High School in 1991, finding a pair of Pine Green Low-Tops. He continued to aquire more pairs by going to a Converse Outlet inLincoln City ,Oregon every year while on vacation. His collection has now also includedJack Purcell , Voliant, Re-Issue, and generic Converse lines.Although the official Guinness Record has his record at 403, on his site he states it is now at 812. His new record is pending with Guinness.
In 2007,
Ripley's Believe It or Not! had a contest called Dear Mr. Ripley where Mueller was one of eleven contestants opting for the most unbelievable story. It stated that he had 403 different and uniqe pairs and wore a pair or two every day in a year never wearing the same pair twice! Although coming in 7th place he and the other contestants were drawn with thier story in the famous strip.In 2008, he was entered into the Ripley's Belive It or not! The Remarkable Revealed... Vol.4, and The Guinness Book of World Records 2008 Books.
He is also a Catoonist & Graphic Novelist completing 3 novels, and creating humor comics for WOW.
