Reversed vegetative symptoms
- Reversed vegetative symptoms
Reversed vegetative symptoms include only oversleeping ("hypersomnia") and overeating ("hyperphagia"), as compared to insomnia and loss of appetite ("vegetative symptoms"). These features are typical in "atypical depression" (AD).
However, there have been studies [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=12563537&query_hl=2] claiming that these symptoms alone are sufficient to diagnose the condition of AD.
