Tongues in the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Seventh-day Adventists believe that the spiritual gifts do continue in the present age, including glossolalia or "speaking in tongues". However they are generally skeptical of tongues as practiced by charismatic and Pentecostal Christians today. Isolated incidents of speaking in tongues have occurred throughout the history of the church.

History

There are four documented cases of speaking in tongues in the early history of the Adventist church, according to Arthur White:
