Fischli started playing professionally in 1965 with
FC Young Fellows Zürich . He played there for three years before signing forFC Basel in August 1968. He became an intregal part of the Basel team alongside the likes ofRené Hasler ,Ottmar Hitzfeld andKarl Odermatt and went on to win five League titles and two Swiss Cups between 1968 and 1979 when he joinedFC Aarau . He retired in 1982, aged 37, and went on to manageFC Aarau for a short while.Honours
