:"For the folk song, see Where Have All the Flowers Gone?"

"Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" (2008) is a documentary film directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and produced by Joel Sadler, Bill Troy, Olivia Everett and Nicholette Jones. Perez, Sadler, and Troy travel to San Francisco to recapture the Summer of Love more than 40 years previously. The film premiered at the Wine Country Film Festival on 4 August 2008 and at San Francisco State University on 26 September 2008. Director's statement:

There is something extraordinary happening in America's youth culture right now. Young people are campaigning, joining grass roots organizations, and voting (many for the first time) in record numbers. Some attribute the resurgence of passion to Barack Obama for his clear ability to inspire, others to President Bush for abusing the government he represents. The filmmakers were at the right time in their lives and were in an ideal city to be able to capture the pulse of this movement before it even began. This year, for the first time since the 1960's, many young people have become engaged in politics and now comes a new documentary film that compares today's youth movement to the one of forty years ago.
