Brookview, New York

Brookview, New York is a small hamlet located in Schodack, New York and just outside of Castleton, New York.

It is named Brookview for the Moordener Kill that runs beside Brookview Road. Brookview Road leads from East Greenbush to Jiffy Mart III, a convenience store aside a Citgo gas station in Castleton, New York. The hamlet of Brookview, however, includes only a small portion of Brookview Road from approximately 1992 Brookview Road to the vicinity of Ashby Park. Ashby Park is a two- field baseball park used for Little League Baseball for the area. It is located approximately 3/4 mile from the Castleton, New York end of Brookview Road. The park is popular as it is filled with vehicles throughout the baseball season. Brookview Road is part of New York State Route 150.

In comparison with other hamlets, Brookview is abnormably small, though it is still considered a hamlet, and is still around today having not been absorbed into surrounding towns, villages or cities.
