The Summer of Knobheads and Scones was a short-lived British TV show about 6 teenagers on holiday in Nefyn, Wales. It focussed on issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, underage sex and racial differences. Despite its immediate success, it was ended after its first season due to poor DVD sales. It starred Ann Nguyen and Jamie Clarke.

Plot

The main plot centred around the exploits and romance between the two main characters, Hannah (Ann Nguyen) and Ryan (Jamie Clarke). The first scene of the show was of the two sitting in a hospital waiting room with Hannah leaning on Ryan, and the rest of the series is shown as a flashback leading up to the beginning moment, narrated by Hannah.

Hannah and Ryan meet at a caravan club disco, when both get fed up of watching their parents embarrass themselves and step outside. After quickly becoming friends they meet other disgruntled teenagers looking for a good time such as Billy (Damian Casey), Rachael (Maria Ramos), Leah (Meredith Phelan) and Twiggy (Andrew Simmons), who serves as the comic relief in the series. Over the course of the 16 episodes the gang are faced with such dilemmas as being offered drugs, alcohol poisoning and whether they are ready for sexual relations or not. In the climax of the series, the group steals a car to escape a crazed drug addict, which subsequently crashes and lands them in hospital. The series ends with the doctor coming out to tell Ryan and Hannah the fate of their friends, but it was left on a cliffhanger and what the doctor was going to say remains unknown.
