Kralendijk is the capital city of the island of
Bonaire , in theNetherlands Antilles . The main language spoken in the town isPapiamentu , but, because of the town's position on the tourist map, English is widely understood. As of 2006, the town has a population of 3,061.Off the coast of Kralendijk lies the uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire, a diving and snorkeling paradise. It can be reached by water taxi, or, for divers, by practically all of the local dive operators.

There is a shopping mall in Kralendijk and a main street.
Supermarkets include Cultimara (in downtown Kralendijk) or Warehouse (located on the way to the airport from town).
Near the Town Pier, Venezuelan merchants have a Roman-style covered pavilion where you can find fresh produce, especially fish, fruit and vegetables.
There are fine historical buildings around Wilhelmina Park - the Customs House and the Old Fort close to the Town Pier.
Parades in fancy dress occur at Carnival time in February or March.
