Jennifer Barringer

Jennifer Barringer (born August 23, 1986 in Webster City, Iowa) is an American athlete who competes in middle distance track events. Barringer competed for the United States in the women's 3000m steeplechase at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

As a high school student, Barringer set Florida high school records in the mile, two-mile, 5000m, and three-mile. At the time of her 2008 Olympic appearance, Barringer was enrolled at the dn|University of Colorado. Barringer qualified for the United States Olympic team by finishing third in U.S. trials in the steeplechase. Barringer qualified for the first women's steeplechase final in Olympic history by finishing third in her heat. She set a new American record of 9:22.26 in the final and placed ninth.
