Andrew Simpson (born 26 May 1965) is a Liberal Democrat politician in the United Kingdom.Andrew graduated in Combined Studies (History, English, Economics) from Nene College (now the University of Northampton) in 1986. The Nene College was an associate college of the University of Leicester. He became sabbatical Treasurer and then President of Nene College Students Union.

On leaving college Simpson worked as a graduate trainee with Nationwide Building Society in Northamptonshire.He is professionally qualified in Marketing having a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.He currently works for Home Retail Group Financial Services in Milton Keynes.

Work with the Liberal Democrats

He was re-selected as the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Northampton North) constituency on 13th May 2006 [http://www.libdems.org.uk/party/people/mr-andrew-simpson.0118.html] . He fought the seat for the party in the 2005 General Election where he increased the share of the vote by 6.8%. Northampton North is an important seat for the Liberal Democrats, needing only a 5.86% swing to win the seat, making it statistically the 15th best chance of securing a seat in the country. He was first elected in 1995. The Liberal Democrats won control of Northampton Borough Council for the first time on 3rd May 2007, where Andrew gained a place as Chairperson of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
