Ashby de la Zouch railway station

Ashby de la Zouch was a railway station on the Leicester to Burton upon Trent Line, built by the Midland Railway (MR) to serve the town of Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire, opened on the 1 August 1849 and closed on the 7 September 1964. The station was given an impressive frontage in keeping with other gradiose architecture in the town. The station was built on the remains of the 3ft 6in Burton & Ashby Light Railway built by the MR and closed on 19 February 1927.
