History

ABC Kids commenced as a replacement in 2000 for the previously aired "ABC for Kids" branding used on ABC Television and ABC Online. On 7 March 2005, ABC2 launched allowing for ABC Kids' programming to be broadcast for 13 hours a day across ABC1 and ABC2. Currently, ABC Kids offers a wide range of children's programing aimed at 4–6 year olds, and a smaller time in the day for 7–15 year olds. A related sub-brand, Rollercoaster, covers programs aimed at 8–15 year olds and a related website and magazine.
