Lucky Day (Iowa Lottery)

Lucky Day (Iowa Lottery)

Lucky Day was a jackpot game created in the early 1990s by the Iowa Lottery.

Instead of a "classic-style" six-number jackpot game, its players chose one from each of the following: a month; a number representing a day of that month; the last two digits of a year from 1900 through 1999; and a second two-digit number from 00 through 99. (Invalid dates, such as November 31, could not be selected.)

The jackpot was won if all four player selections in a game matched the month, day, year, and "lucky number" drawn by the lottery. Partial matches won smaller prizes. The jackpot was paid through an annuity; there was no cash option, even though several US lotteries offered one by the end of Lucky Day's run.
