Trevor Carson (born March 5 1988 in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish professional footballer currently on loan to League 2 side Chesterfield on loan from Premier League team Sunderland.

A highly rated young goalkeeper, Carson signed professional terms during the 04/05 season, where he was backup to Ben Alnwick for the final three games of the season. He was allocated the number 24 shirt for the 05/06, 06/07 and 07/08 seasons. During his time at Sunderland, he put some strong displays in for the reserves, which lead to Roy Keane heaping praise on him.

On August 14, 2008 Carson joined Chesterfield F.C. on a season long loan deal. [ [http://www.safc.com/news/?page_id=15437 Carson joins chesterfield] ] He made his professional debut on a 1-0 victory against Grimsby keeping a clean sheet.

Northern Ireland

Played two games in two days when appearing in Northern Ireland U21's in Wuppertal, Germany on the night of Friday 5th September 2008. losing 3-0, before a dash back to Chesterfield to play in a 1-0 win over Rotherham United.
