Background
The Muscat sisters, Christine (b.
February 27 ,1981 ) and Sharon (b.August 23 ,1984 ) (toMaltese immigrants), are the act that make up Sister2Sister. Their career started very young when they grew up in the Sydney suburb of St. Clair, where they attended Holy Spirit Primary school and later Emmaus Catholic College in nearby Erskine Park.Growing up in a very musical family, it was during those early years that the two developed a love for music. However, they also had a knack for acting, which resulted in both of them television presenting and landing roles in TV commercials and soap operas.
Their Musical Career
At the ages of 9 and 13, Christine and Sharon joined
Brent Street Studios to also study dancing. Soon after joining the school, the girls were invited to join the Brent St Kids performance troupe and began singing and dancing all over Sydney. It was through this exposure that they attracted the attention of a celebrity who saw their performance at the Variety Club Heart Awards. Her name wasTina Arena , who in turn mentioned the girls to her now former manager/husband. He later signed them to his management company and new record label in1997 . After relocating to Melbourne to write their first album the name Sister2Sister was born. It was at this time Sharon also studied at the Victorian College of Arts.Chart History
In October
1999 their first single "Sister" was a seemingly overnight success. By December1999 it would break into the top five of ARIA Pop music chart, Peaking at #3 and achieving double platinum status. Their follow-up, "What's a Girl to Do" would debut at #10 onJanuary 31 2000 and achieve platinum status, and go top five a week later. Their debut album, "One" would debut at #3 on ARIA's album chart in February2000 and achieve gold status in just its first week of sales.uccess overseas
The surprising success of Sister2Sister and their singles would also translate into success overseas, especially in the
United Kingdom and in theUnited States , the latter where they landed a deal withSony BMG Music Entertainment /Columbia Records and joined a national tour of young Pop music acts that were being sponsored (separately) by Nickelodeon andRadio Disney . They also attracted the attention ofBritney Spears , who added the sisters to her list of opening acts on her2000 world tour.The single "Sister" was released in the UK on April 10 2000, it was the #1 added song to national radio and debuted at #18. "What's a girl to do" was released as a follow-up later that year, it peaked at #55. It was while the girls were overseas that they received the news of their winning an ARIA for Best Independent Release in 2000. They were also nominated for Highest Selling Single.
Television Careers
After touring extensively through the USA, UK and Europe, Sharon and Christine returned home to Sydney and decided to turn back to a previous passion and re-enter the world of television. They were VJ's on MTV's Australian Top 30 for 18 months.

Although the two still perform together, they have been keeping busy these days with the launching of their Sister2Sister School Of Singing in
Castle Hill, New South Wales ,Australia , which opened in2004 . Students receive one-on-one vocal tuition, group classes, dance classes, guitar lessons, piano lessons, songwriting workshops and performance and microphone technique classes.The girls are leading the way for aspiring young artists including; Alex Ford and The Perfect Revolution singer's Luke Robinson and Ben Kershaw. In 2006, students of the Sister2Sister School of Singing achieved Highly Commended status at the established McDonald Performing Arts Challenge Eistedfod.
Christine and Sharon, as Directors of the Sister2Sister School of Singing were recognised in the following prestigious business awards for 2006.
