Pavel Ruminov is a Russian film director. He is famed in Russia for the internet-based hype surrounding his feature film Dead Daughters, a Russian pastiche of J-horror tropes, which flopped on its release in 2007. He sold the remake rights to Dead Daughters to Hollywood but to date no remake has been produced.

Ruminov has compared himself to such filmmakers as Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Jean Luc Godard, and M. Night Shyamalan. He was the only Russian contributor to Cinema Now, Taschen's 2008 survey of contemporary cinema.
