Weathercaster by the KSMI Weather Service is a 24-hour all-local-weather commercial free cable network that delivers local weather information, including current conditions, weather warnings, and weather forecasts for a cable company's viewing area. Weathercaster also provides environmental information such as UV reports, pollen reports, air quality reports and traffic conditions. Depending on the season and area, Weathercaster will also include lifestyle-related information such as gardening, golfing, and skiing.

Weathercaster is the Canadian equivalent to The Weather Channel’s Weatherscan product in the United States.

Currently, Weathercaster is in the beta testing stages and will be seeking CRTC approval in the coming months.
