Dominican Summer Blue Jays1

The Dominican Summer Blue Jays1 are a baseball team in the Dominican Summer League. The team is one of two minor league baseball teams represented by the Toronto Blue Jays in the Dominican Summer League, the other being the Blue Jays2. The DSL is a rookie level competition, and therefore the team is a rookie affiliate. The team plays in the Bona Chica South division.

Records

On Wednesday July 23rd, 2008 the Toronto Blue Jays signed 16 year old 6-3, 180 pound Dominican shortstop Gustavo Pierre (although expected to be moved to the outfield) as an international free agent for a signing bonus worth an estimated $700,000 and will start in the Dominican Summer League.

The 2008 Dominican Summer League season for Blue Jays1 ended with a record of 35 Wins and 33 Losses finishing 4th in the group and 13 Games Back from the Giants who were Division Champions.
