Språkförsvaret

Språkförsvaret (literal translation: "the language defence") is a politically independent association which works to strengthen the role of the Swedish language in Sweden. Språkförsvaret understands that English is a viable international second language, but believes that the English language's current position as a world language threatens other languages' survival in the long run, including Swedish.

Språkförsvaret believes that multilingualism has a value in itself and that the Swedish language must be actively defended in a completely different way than before, with EU membership and the growing internationalisation.
