Evan Mckie (born Evan Morrison McKie in 1984) is a ballet dancer hailing from Toronto, Canada. He is regarded as a Danseur noble and is one of the youngest dancers to achieve this particular kind of recognition.

Biography

McKie received his dance training from The National Ballet School of Canada, The Kirov Academy of Ballet (upon special invitation from Oleg Vinogradov, then director of the Maryinsky Ballet) and the John Cranko School, Stuttgart. He currently dances for the Stuttgart Ballet in Germany. He has received critical acclaim for many roles including Siegfried in Swan Lake and Prince Desire in The Sleeping Beauty. He was praised by critics and audienced alike for his portrayal of the tragic poet, Lenski in John Cranko's Onegin. Several of the worlds top choreographers have created especially for him including Wayne McGregor, Marco Goecke, Mauro Bigonzetti, Christian Spuck, Sabrina Matthews, Nicolo Fonte ,Peter Quanz, Kevin O'Day and Douglas Lee. McKie has also worked with legendary choreographers John Neumeier and Glen Tetley and has danced in Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Africa, United States, England, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Luxembourg. He has already danced with some of the world's most sought after ballerinas including Bridget Breiner and Alicia Amatriain. He recently appeared (as Lenski) in special gala performances of Onegin with prima ballerinas Polina Semionova and Sue Jin Kang.
