Peter J Reynolds

Peter J Reynolds

Peter J Reynolds (1939-11-06—2001-09-26) was a British archaeologist best known for his research in experimental archaeology and the British Iron Age and for the founding of Butser Ancient Farm.

In particular, he famously demonstrated that roundhouses did not have holes to let smoke escape (which would have drawn air through far too quickly); smoke simply passed through the thatched roofs.
