Total (breakfast cereal)

Total is a breakfast cereal made by General Mills for the North American market (except Canada). It consists of whole grain wheat flakes. It supplies 100% of the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) recommended daily allowance for each of the following different vitamins and dietary minerals: vitamin C, calcium, iron, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid and zinc.

These varieties may provide different vitamin and mineral percentages from regular Total. For example, Raisin Bran does not provide vitamin C.

Ingredients

Whole grain wheat, sugar, calcium carbonate, corn syrup, salt lactose, distilled monoglycerides, vitamin C (sodium ascorbate), zinc and iron (mineral nutrients), vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate), niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, annatto extract color, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B1 (thiamin mononitrate), folic acid, vitamin A (Palmitate), vitamin B12, and vitamin D. Freshness is preserved by BHT, a synthetic antioxidant (preservative).

Exchange: 1.5 Starch

Whole grain rice and corn bran have been dropped as ingredients.
