Renan Luce (born on the 5 March, 1980, Paris) is a French singer and songwriter from Brittany. His songs are inspired by the 20th century singer and songwriter Georges Brassens and depict everyday life with a dose of humour and poetry.

Biography and musical career

Although born in Paris he spent all his childhood and adolescence in Plourin-les-Morlaix, Brittany (near Morlaix, in the Finistere).

His musical career started with participating with his brother Damien and his sister Claire in a chorale, afterwards he debuts classical piano at the conservatory of Brest then at Saint-Brieuc. He then exchanged the piano for the saxophone and learns by himself the guitar by composing his first songs.

After 2 years of preparatory classes in Rennes (at Saint-Vincent), where he offers presentations in bars and at a few festivals (first part of the Matmatah), he is admitted at the superior school of commerce in Toulouse.

He has been successful in France, with the songs like "Les Voisines" and "La Lettre".

In September 2006 Renan Luce released his first album "Repenti" that comprises 13 tracks + 3 live versions.
