The Fling is a band from Long Beach, CA consisting of Dustin Lovelis (guitars, vocals), Graham Lovelis (bass, vocals), Scotty Cantino (guitars, keys, vocals), and Justin Ivey (drums). Originally formed in 2005 by Dustin as a side project, with help from Graham, his younger brother, and friends; it wasn't until 2007 that Joel and Justin joined. The group draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of folk, rock, pop and psychedelic music. Their sound has been described as "classic ’60s pop, ’90s alternative, and contemporary indie-rock clashing fluidly to create a strangely nostalgic effect." Scotty Cantino joined the group shortly after Joel left in April 2008. Lonely Fool has been played steadily on local radio stations Indie 103.1 and KROQ 106.7. They are currently playing all around the West Coast and staying busy writing songs for their first full-length album.
