Great Coasters International, Inc. (GCI) is a Sunbury, Pennsylvania-based roller coaster manufacturer which has created several award-winning rides. Starting with Hersheypark's Wildcat (1996) through rides like Dollywood's Thunderhead (2004), GCI has a dedication to speed, thrills, and new technology.
Starting in 2006 with Thunderbird, the company begun building coasters in Europe. Güenter-Engelhardt GmbH handles the company's marketing rights in Europe.
Millennium Flyers
In 1999, GCI introduced the Millennium Flyer, a fully-articulated wooden coaster train. Highly reminiscent of coaster trains of the 1920s, the Millennium Flyer marries modern safety standards to classic design. These trains allow maximum maneuverability through the twisted tracks that are a design hallmark of the company. Previously, the company used trains built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Currently though, trains are manufactured by another PA based company, Ashland Technologies. Ash - Tec is a fully capable production machine and fab shop located in the Hegins Valley of Schuylkill County PA.
