Black September is a Chicago based Death, Black, Doom metal band founded in 2006.

Background:

Black September was formed in September 2006 when [http://www.myspace.com/thintheherd Thin the Herd] disbanded. Quickly rehearsing and recording a demo, they started making a name for themselves in the underground metal scene and after releasing " Tide of the Storm", Black September toured the east coast of the US for the first time. Black September was originally influenced by older death metal groups such as Bolt Thrower and Benediction, but the bands recent release "Thrive & Decay" incorporates more black metal and doom elements in the music, while still keeping the original death metal genre in tact.
