Reer Siyaad

The Reer Siyad (Somali: Siyaad) is a Somali subclan of the larger Diini clan which is in turn part of Marehan. They primarily inhabit the Galguduud and Gedo regions in Somalia and secondarly the Lower Juba region in Somalia.

* Col.Cabdirizaq Isaaq Biixi, Member of Parliament of the Somali Transitional Federal Government, Minister of Defense (2007), Chairman of Somali National Front (SNF), (1998-2005).
* Ahmed Farah Ali 'Idaja', one of the first Somali language writers and 'father' of the Somali written folklore
* Guleed Jucfe Samatar Cabdille, renowned clan leader and poet
* Fatimo Isaak Bihi, First Somali female ambassador, Ambassador to Geneva, Director of the African Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
* Gen. Cali Maxamed Xasan Looyaan (Cali Madoobe), Somali Police Force Commander of The Somali Transitional Federal Government (2005-2008)
* Cabdullaahi Cabdulle Magan(Bood), the prime example of Reer Siyaad: No formal schooling, at the same time, a friend of both Abdullahi Yusuf and Hassan Dahir Aweis.
